Auburn, Maine native Joe Doyle and his wife Jill donated three years in a row to the BHWP development. Their home and property abut the development. They support many other community causes, and they have sponsored this web site for the citizens of Boothbay Harbor. When the development is built, it should be as “green” as organizers originally promised.

The Doyles were very early supporters of Boothbay Harbor Waterfront Preservation, making generous financial donations to the organization three years in a row. They grew alarmed when they discovered questionable environmental decisions. They share the concerns already aired by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP.) The original idea for a waterfront development was inspired. But it needs to be safe, and it needs to be green. There is no place for compromised regulatory review, and it is doubtful that the people of Boothbay Harbor support taking any environmental shortcuts.
